Fathom sat down with Chase Stokes and Sydney Taylor to discuss their new film, MARKED MEN: RULE + SHAW, in theatres January 22 & 23! Hear them talk about the group chat, tattoos, Nick Cassavetes, and more! MARKED MEN is based off the book RULE, by Jay Crownover Marked Men: Rule + Shaw follows the unexpected romance between Shaw (Taylor), a pre-med college student from an affluent family, and Rule (Stokes), a rebellious tattoo artist with a chaotic, impulsive lifestyle. Shaw has silently loved Rule for years, but to him, she’s always been “Casper”—a teasing nickname from childhood for her pale complexion. However, their friendship shifts after one uninhibited night forces them to confront emotions they can no longer ignore, blurring the line between friendship and love. Rule runs Marked, a tattoo shop he shares with his misfit friends—a close-knit group of outsiders prioritizing freedom over commitment. Still haunted by the death of his twin brother, Remy, Rule fears that letting Shaw in will only lead to more heartbreak. Meanwhile, Shaw struggles to reconcile her feelings for Rule with the pressures from her wealthy parents, who push her toward Gabe (Bradway), her controlling ex-boyfriend.
Marked Men: Rule + Shaw
Shaw Landon has loved Rule Archer from the moment she laid eyes on him. Rule, a fiery-tempered rebel tattoo artist, doesn’t have time for a good girl pre-med student like Shaw — even if she’s the only one who can see the person he truly is. She lives by other people’s rules; he makes his own. But a short skirt, too many birthday cocktails, and spilled secrets lead to a night neither can forget. Now, Shaw and Rule must figure out how a girl like her and a guy like him are supposed to be together without destroying their love…or each other.
