Wages Of Fear (1978) - re-cut release of the Sorcerer (1977)

Finally the fans of the Sorcerer, a 1977 movie from William Friedkin, has again chance to see this butchered international cut in all of it's glory. Story goes that after Universal/Paramount were dissappointed to the box office results of Sorcerer in its original US release run in 1977, they decided to re-cut and re-arrange the movie structure into different version for international markets in 1978. It was done in the UK by CIC, who distributed Universal/Paramount movies internationally outside the US/Canada region. This version was dramatically altered story wise, and generally, film and audio editing is poorly done. It basically feels more like a B-movie instead of the AAA-quality of the original cut. Majority of the foreign language is dubbed to english, and some plot points have been altered with dialogue change.
This is sourced from Finnish VHS release, which was distributed by Esselte Video in Northern Europe sometime in the late 70's/early 80's. Bad quality mono audio, and this is also ex-rental tape. Luckily, all of the titles and the audio is in English apart from couple Spanish lines. In Finland, movies were just subtitled and used their original audio apart from cartoons etc. I recall seeing this on TV in 1992, and I did check that it was indeed aired on TV during that year, prior to that it was shown in 1988 on TV and again in 2002 (thou, 2002 airing might've been the original cut, since they made DVD release of that internationally sometime in the 90's).
Uploaded this simply in terms of research about movie making and how editing/restructuring movie can change the ending result, sometimes in awful ways.
