Classic TV Theme: Movin' On

Claude Akins and Frank Converse are two truckers with a socially conscious bent in 1974's 'Movin' On', an NBC show that ran for two seasons. As they trucked across the nation, they helped out people with their problems, and then they were movin' on. Which they literally did, filming on location in nearly a dozen states. The theme song is by Merle Haggard, who was concerned that Hank Snow already had a hit with that title. But after watching the pilot he found the way forward: 'I just tried to re-create what I saw on the screen and pay tribute to Will and Sonny.' The end credits theme, which is not credited, appeared in several different arrangements. You'll hear a slower one, and a livelier one, along with Merle Haggard's opening song.
