After rejecting a marriage proposal from the vain Gaston, Belle discovers that her father, the eccentric inventor Maurice, is missing. She finds him imprisoned in an enchanted castle being held by a fearsome Beast living under an impossible spell – unless he can learn to love and be loved in return, he will forever remain a Beast. To save her father, Belle offers to take his place as the Beast’s prisoner. The castle’s enchanted staff – including the fussy clock, Cogsworth, the debonair candelabra, Lumiere, the motherly teapot, Mrs. Potts, and her son, Chip – invite Belle to “Be Out Guest” and gently encourage a romance between Belle and the Beast. As the relationship between the two unlikely friends grows, the castle staff wonder if there is “Something There” that wasn’t there before. But will the castle’s spell be broken before time runs out for “Beauty and the Beast”? Cast: Paige O’Hara (Belle), Robby Benson (Beast), Richard White (Gaston), Jerry Orbach (Lumiere), David Ogden Stiers (Cogsworth/Narrator), Angela Lansbury (Mrs. Potts), Bradley Michael Pierce (Chip), Jesse Corti (LeFou), Rex Everhart (Maurice), Jo Ann Worley (Wardrobe) Songs: “Belle,” “Gaston,” “Be Our Guest,” “Something There,” “Beauty and the Beast,” “The Mob Song” Directed by Gary Trousdale and Kirk Wise.
