When Niles lands a job as art critic of a magazine, Frasier's jealousy leads him to cozy up to the station owner's annoying daughter in the hopes of getting a new show focusing on the arts.

After losing his job at KACL, Bulldog is delivering pizzas. Seeing how well he gets along with Alice, Roz offers him a job as a babysitter.

6: Rivals

Frasier returns home and finds a strange woman in a towel using the phone. It soon turns out that her name is Regan, she recently moved in next door, and Martin rescued her when she accidentally locked herself out.

7: A Tsar is Born

The rift between Martin and his sons' tastes is bridged when they find they are all fans of "The Antique Roadshow." The boys have a great time watching it on TV, and when the Roadshow comes to Seattle, they all go.

8: The Late Dr. Crane

A minor fender-bender sends Frasier to the hospital a slight bloody nose. While waiting, Niles hears the name of Maris's plastic surgeon, Mel Karnofsky, whom he decides to confront about a billing error.

9: The Apparent Trap

Lilith and Frederick come for Thanksgiving dinner with the Cranes. Frederick manoeuvres Frasier and Lilith into spending an evening together, and they begin to suspect that he is trying to get them back together.

On his birthday, Frasier is seized with crippling back pain. Niles wonders if he's stressed, and while recovering at home, Frasier muses aloud about why he's unhappy.
